„Ukrainian Village Fest” – Ukrainos karo aukoms ir kariams remti

Š. m. rugpjūčio 27-28 dienomis vakarinėje Čikagos dalyje esančiame Ukrainian Village rajone nuvilnijo kasmetinis kultūrinis renginys – festivalis, kurio tikslas pristatyti ir puoselėti ukrainiečių tautinę kultūrą. Šiais metais, vasario 24 d. prasidėjus Rusijos invazijai į Ukrainą, renginys įgavo kitą atspalvį. Šiųmetė šventė suskambo kaip šauksmas, kviečiantis jungtis čia esančias ukrainiečių, lenkų, lietuvių, slovėnų, ispanų, airių ir amerikiečių  bendruomenes vienam tikslui – švęsti „Ukrainian Village Fest” surinktas lėšas skiriant „Help Heroes of Ukraine“ –  vietinei ne pelno siekiančiai organizacijai, tiekiančiai pagalbą Ukrainos karo aukoms ir kariams, siekiant remti jų pastangas atsilaikyti prieš Rusijos agresiją ir būti laisva ir demokratine tauta.

Scenoje – lietuvių tautinių šokių grupė „Suktinis“.

Renginys, Bizantijos liturgija prasidėjęs turtingą etninį dvasinį paveldą išsaugojusioje Šv. Vladimiro ir Olhos Ukrainos graikų katalikų bažnyčioje, 1969 metais įkurtoje patriarcho Josyfo Slipyj, sukvietė Čikagoje ir jos apylinkėse įsikūrusių įvairių šalių bendruomenių atstovus, palaikančius Ukrainos suverenitetą, telktis kilniai misijai. Šventės dalyviams klausantis muzikos atlikėjų programos ir stebint šokių grupių pasirodymus buvo siūloma mėgautis tradiciniais ukrainiečių patiekalais ir alumi, o mugėje dalyvusių amatininkų ir menininkų kūriniai stebino išradingumu.

Šventės dalyviai klausėsi įspūdingos muzikos atlikėjų programos ir stebėjo šokių grupių pasirodymus.

Šiais metais, be unikalių ukrainiečių kultūros atstovų, pagrindinėje scenoje buvo galima išvysti ir Ukrainą palaikančių šalių – lenkų, lietuvių, slovėnų, ispanų, airių ir, žinoma, amerikiečių, scenos atlikėjų, pasaulyje žinomų muzikantų, vokalistų bei šokių grupių, tokių kaip „Ensemble Español“, „Trinity Irish Dance Company“, ir kt., pasirodymus, o lietuvių tautinių šokių grupė „Suktinis“ buvo sutikta ilgai salėje vilnijančiais plojimams.

Beje, prieš pirmąją festivalio dieną Ukrainian Village buvo atidengta freska, skirta Ukrainos žmonių laisvei pagerbti. Menininkų iš Čikagos, Sechor ir Conrad Edmonds, sukurtoje freskoje matomas ukrainietės atvaizdas, simbolizuojantis Ukrainos ir jos žmonių grožį bei stiprybę, šiuo metu yra ypač aktualus ir jaudinantis.

Renginyje dalyvavo Čikagoje gyvenantis ukrainietis Stefan Bilik (kairėje) ir Kartografijos ir sfragistikos mokslinių tyrimų centro direktorius Rimantas Kunčas-Žemaitaitis.
Istoriniame Čikagos rajone Ukrainian Village atidengta įspūdinga menininkų Sechor ir Conrad Edmonds sukurta freska.
